Spring Break

We've had the Best spring break ever!...We always have tons of fun at Grandma & Grampa's house, and with the gorgeous spring weather we also went on some neat adventures!

Why be indoors on a day like this?!

(That's right, popcorn popping on the apricot tree...looks like they'll get a bumper crop this year--stay Away late frost!!)

Is this not the cutest picture of baby kittens?! Leka was completely enchanted & usually by the baby kittens' side when we were at the house.

...At one of our favorite spots--Cottonwood Wash. The water's always running in April.
However, this year after heavy snow there was so much run-off it was all muddy(!) :p

Buuut, we played anyway--Leka and her mudball :)

Last year when the water was crystal clear, the kids were soaked head to toe from playing in the water...
This year we just waded up to our knees. (Kind of yucky, but my little water-dogs can't resist!)

Found a somewhat sandy beach to play on.

And of course Maisy wanted to fetch sticks the whole time--there's nothing she won't retrieve out of any body of water!

Poor Leka!--Threw up in the car...she had a bad tummy bug on Saturday, but thankfully she was all better the next day.

(The only other bummer apart from Leka's 24-hr flu, was that Nase wasn't able to come with us...we missed him & it's too bad he had to miss out on the fun!)

I'd like to hike these canyons--couldn't happen w/a sick little girl & slow-poke little boy... next time!

And the fishin' was great!

Leka & Austin Love to fish!...We caught these crazy albino trout--Rainbow Trout without the rainbow.

And if you think this was a good catch...

We came back a couple days later & found the spot where they were Really Biting!

Took as long to gut these fish as it did to catch them (no, I have no fear of fish guts--wanna catch em, keep em & eat em, you gotta gut em! ;) ...Anyway-that's my kinda fishin! Catch your limit in an hour :)

So tomorrow we make the 7-hr trip back to the daily grind, but we feel lucky to have had such a great get-away!
