Aloha Oe..

This will be my final LOST post...

And looking over my blog there have been Many!
I realized something tonight--LOST, though the best show of all time was a little bit more than a TV series to me. It was a connection to Hawaii--where I lived for 5 years...when they aired season 1, we lived in Laie, Nase was still going to BYU-H..had just had Leka...We had a lot of friends in our same boat (poor college students...starting their families...many from Tonga)--hanging out Polynesian style...It was a special time.
--I have loved watching LOST & seeing the gorgeous waves (even though they taunted me!)...and seeing different places on the island--many which I recognized & have been to.

-I've really been missing Hawaii lately--I think LOST ending made me miss it even more!

But enough boo-hoo.. my thoughts on the show:

Well, it made me So happy that everyone "came back" -- Back from the dead...back together again...
Especially happy about the Claire/Charlie/Aaron family--and that Aaron has just been born so Claire won't miss out on raising him!
I was happy about Sawyer & Juliette being together in the end--he & Kate were a great wreck together but not meant to be together. Juliette brought out the best in Sawyer--and he made her really happy...and when Juliette died I thought Sawyer was really believable in losing his true love...I loved their flash-reuniting scene! (I loved all the flash-returning-reuniting scenes!)
-It was always Jack & Kate...and finally they're together w/out their issues.
--Jack taking Jacob's place (as Smokey pointed out) Was predictable...but it ultimately being Hurley was not--although it was Perfect!! He's perfect! -He always had the best heart--always took care of everyone & cared about everyone.
From the ending scene of his brief conversation w/Ben from the Church balcony I realized it must have been Hurely who organized their meeting there--his way, a better way than Jacob's, of taking care of the islanders.
--Soo, Desmond pulled the plug...made Smokey & Jack (Jacob's surrogate) mortal...Smokey gets killed... Jack puts the plug back in... the island's saved & preserved along with its life-giving light...I got all that... Where I'm a little confused:
Ok, I figured everyone would have to die in some form at some time for the 2 parallel universes to collide--couldn't have duplicates... But they left out some of the deaths--we just know everyone died sometime & came back--back to the flash-sideways world, which was their in-between place before they could move on.
--The ending of them all "letting go & moving on" surprised me--thought the worlds would collide & they'd all be back & life would be good...
BUT, it did solve what I couldn't figure out--in that, yes, they had to get off the island--plot line from the beginning...however their lives back on the mainland.. well, were a wreck--so they didn't want that life either... (I kind of thought they'd end up with a new start at a better life on the mainland)...but I guess moving on was best..
And most importantly... moving on Together.
(And I get it producers--you're telling your viewers to let go & move on also! ;)

--True LOST style...we weren't left with a cliff hanger this time--but we were left with room for interpretation!--

Sum Up:
I think the island brought them together--they had a purpose in taking care of the island--removing the threat of the MIB who was determined to destroy it...but their biggest destiny was becoming part of each other's lives.
-So now they're done with the island (or it's done with them)...and after several turbulent years, they finally get to have peace..and move on--Together.
:)

So LOST:
Aloha `oe, aloha `oe
E ke onaona noho i ka lipo
One fond embrace,
A ho`i a`e au
Until we meet again

Yes we will meet again...when I watch the boxed set ;) ..and when I return to the island!--Thanks for keeping me entertained--You were/are the best series of All time!...Thank you for keeping me connected to Hawaii these 6 years!

ALOHA

See Rob was confused about that to but the key is in what Christian said when he said that some have come before you (died before Jack) and some after. He said that all of those experiances were theirs and they happened. So the flash sideways all happened after they had died and before they moved on. I like to think that the hand full that left on the plane all lived close and went on with life the best they could with the help of Hurley and Ben. I loved when Hurley told him he was a great number two.
Anyway that was my take, I think it ended perfect with Jack lying exactly where he started with Vincent. And I loved that everyone was with who they were with on the island and also that Claire and Charlie got to have baby Aaron together. It was good and I am sad that it is over but happy that it ended in true lost fashion.

Very well put Katie!! We'll talk more on Monday about it, when we can all be together and share our own thoughts and comments and ask questions! It will be too fun!

I feel the same way, Katie; it's like my last link to Hawaii is gone!
