Snow Day

It's been snowing all day & when I took the garbage out I found our Quail friend sitting right up against our door...He'd probably live in the house if we let him!

I did a little online searching to see if Quail is a boy or girl (that way we can name our pet)...And I'm pretty sure it's a Male--I read that a mature male will have a mask--which he does...So we'll have to work on a name...I'll have to look up if his breed is indigenous to North America--if so we can give him a Native American name like "Poops on the Porch"

Austin came with me to feed 'Poops on the Porch' the leftover half of Leka's PBJ sandwich--And he told me "I like that bird Mom!...I won't shoot him." :D :) :D ..Thanks, Aus!

I've had the poor kids watching TV all day with the whiteout going on outside. -Although when I was giving Austin a bath upstairs I heard Leka cracking up downstairs...I asked her what was so funny & turns out she was getting a real kick out of Tom & Jerry (first time she's watched it)...That's a girl after my own heart!--I love the classic cartoons!

We did take a TV break to play with some clay today. (Leka must not have cabin fever, too bad though, because she just passed up the opportunity to go to the store with her dad--I was hoping she'd go so I could do some wrapping while Austin's napping! (Our bdrm door doesn't have a lock :p ...maybe I'll go put something heavy in front of it & see what I can get done.

(Letting Austin pass out on the couch is so much easier than trying to get him to nap in his bed :)
