Giving Thanks

TRACI - I'm thankful for you & the awesome Thanksgiving Dinner & Get-together you organized!

FAMILY!!--I have the Best family!!...I have 51 first cousins--& I don't know how many 2nd cousins, but all together it's a lot!...I am close to most of them & love getting together to visit, eat, have fun, hang out & all that we do!

TRADITION--The holidays come with many traditions my family has done over the years--it's fun to make new traditions with my little family!

THE NICE WEATHER--that has lingered through the end of this month & getting to enjoy the outdoors in it.

SHOPPING--I actually went shopping on Black Friday...This I thought I would never do because I don't do crowds & I actually prefer to procrastinate my Christmas shopping (for me it's funner a week or two before Christmas) -- But I went with my Mom & we went in the afternoon when the crowds had died down significantly--it was lots of fun & I shopped mainly for ME (haha)...I got some cute new tops on amazing deals--So I should no longer be having No Clue what to wear every day (yay!) :)

EACH LIFE THAT TOUCHES OURS FOR GOOD--The friendships I hold dear...I will be missing Jessica these holidays (she always had such a festive spirit, was the best, most thoughtful gift-giver...her gift wrapping was fine art! (mine is seriously lacking!), her decor beautiful, her birtday is just 3 days after Christmas--she gave the funnest cards & I always looked for a good one to reply (usually humorous). She is indeed one of the angels in heaven celebrating the birth of our Savior along with us this time of year... which brings me to:

THE TRUE REASON OF THE SEASON!!!...May we all remember the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ this year & follow his example of giving, love, compassion, & charity! -I can't wait to see the lights on Temple Square with my family, along with the beautiful nativity they put up!!

We had a bunch of my family get together & an incredible spread!!--Goood eatin! :D (most the seats were full..not sure if this is before or after we ate.)
Basketball after dinner--we played Speed/Bump/Elemination (whatever you call it)...you about threw up running after your ball & to the back of the line (being so full) but it was fun!

My cousin brought a bunch of suckers--Austin went around finding & eating as many as he could--here he just had a blue one!

Uncle Shane gives the little ones a ride on the food cart...here's Leka with her cousin her age, Abby--they were inseprable; so cute! -I like Ashley's expression in the middle there :)

That was so neat what you did with writing all the things you are grateful for. I love the memories you have of Jessica. So detailed! We went the other evening and decorated her grave for Christmas. We put up a little live Christmas tree all decorated and then found and adorable Mary Engelbright Flag. The flag is trimmed in yellow and has a cute little chubby Santa Clause on it. Jessica loved Christmas! Her birthday however was always a sore spot. She did not like that it was so close to Christmas. I cannot blame her. It is so fun to receive gifts at different times in the year not all at once. I wonder what she will be doing this holiday season. Busy with her important mission no doubt.
We talked to a gentleman that had lost his Mother, Father, and sister. He was blessed with the unique opportunity to talk and see them. His Mother told him that they love to celebrate Christmas in heaven. She told him the lights and decorations are exquisite and like nothing we have ever seen here on earth. So I do believe it must be wonderful during the holidays!
It looks like you had a very fun family Thanksgiving. You have a whole lot o’ cousins. So was that your Mom’s or Dad’s side of the family you had Thanksgiving with? Is this the same group you had a family reunion with at Hobble Creek?
