Last Friday I went down to Blanding with Leka & Austin for a visit & Elk hunt...I have a cow elk tag & wouldn't you know it we saw a ton of big bulls (no bull!! - har-de-har) So no elk yet, but I can hunt again at Christmas time--I think (hope) the hunting might be better then. (The weather was sunny, warm & beautiful but that's actually not the best for hunting)

We also celebrated Austin's 2nd Birthday & did some other fun things. Nase was working out of town so we stayed through Wednesday (much funner to be at "Grandma's House" than alone w/the kids here) - Leka & Austin Love grandma's house! (But we Are glad to have Daddy back now :) ..He missed out on Austin's birthday so we're going to celbrate with him tomorrow--hopefully go to Madagascar 2 & have a little party.

I made Austin an airplane cake...not my finest culinary creation, but it worked.

We also went fishing with Grandpa on Austin's b-day.
Leka shows off her prize catches! - she's always been quite the angler. (When Austin caught a fish she congratulated him "good job Aus!" - but then made sure to tell us her fish is bigger {which it wasn't} :)
Austin had a lot of fun fishing, too - he doesn't quite have the rod reeling down right, but he would Not let anyone help him.

(Leka saw this picture & said "Ha! Austin has a beard like Daddy" - he's Grizzly Adams right now with a full beard :) - I kind of like it.

We also went up the mountain & cut down the most beautiful Christmas tree--one of my favorite traditions we've always done ...Well probably put it up after Thanksgiving.

You guys look like you had lots of fun in Blanding with your family! It is so fun to have a cool place to go and visit. Not to mention being in a small town where the pace of things seem to slow down compared to the city.
Happy belated birthday Austin!!!! What fun presents and what little guy does not love new shiny toy guns! (lol, which is the name of a band) Your airplane cake is adorable. What a great idea Miss Ace of Cakes! I love how you carry on your Mother’s tradition of making special birthday cakes.
Going fishing, what fun! That must have been such a fun day for Austin on his birthday.
The weather has been very nice. I am so glad it is not snowing and cold yet. I hoped there would be an extended fall season and so far that has been the case.
Love the pictures! Austin is 2 already?! I got Lillian to behave by threatening to never take her to a restaurant again (leaving her with a babysitter), and telling her the things she couldn't do (like jump on the bench, yell, scream) that she was going to sit in her place, color, and enjoy her meal. She really loves restaurants, so I guess she was afraid I was going to follow through and not bring her. Also, I told her daddy might let her order dessert if she ate her food and behaved well.
